North of Hope: A Daughter’s Arctic Journey by Shannon Polson

This story is the true story of how Shannon Polson’s parents were killed in a rare grizzly attack in the arctic. Polson is pushed into an abyss of grief, and out of desperation turns to the loves she learned from her father. In an attempt to make sense of what happened, and find peace, Polson sets out on her own arctic journey exploring her grief, her faith, and the hazardous terrain of the same area where her parents were killed.

Polson’s voice in this story is spoken in a way that draws the reader in and allows you to truly feel her pain, joy, and even fear. It is an honest and raw look at someone’s personal tragedy and the process through healing.

**I was given this book for free from Handlebar Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion of the works.
