Jello Popcorn Balls

This recipe is super easy and very tasty! The only complaint was that it was really sticky, which I think could have been remedied by boiling it a bit longer.

6 cups popped popcorn

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1 pkg flavored gelatin

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking soda

Combine sugar, syrup, gelatin, and salt in a heavy bottom saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue to boil for 2 minutes.

Remove from heat, add baking soda and stir. Pour over popcorn, and mix with a spoon. Be careful not to touch it, it’s crazy hot!!! 

Spray your hands with cooking spray or rub generously with butter. Using your hands, carefully form into small balls and place onto waxed paper.

I also just dumped it onto the waxed paper in a large sheet, and then broke up after it cooled. 

I am going to try to bake some of the non-formed popcorn to see if it makes it less sticky.
