You So Saucy, Pork

We love some pulled pork in our house. We pop it in the crock pot all day and just drool over the smell until it’s ready to eat. I was going to post our all-meat chili recipe today, but that’s too hard to do when you have a husband who doesn’t measure and he’s the one that makes the chili. The very next time he makes it, I will be sure to measure it for all of you and post it. Anyway, back to the pork. Here’s what you need:

  • 8 lb. bone-in pork shoulder
  • 3 10oz. bottles of Thick and Hearty A1 Steak sauce
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. oregano

Pour the three bottles of steak sauce into the bottom of your crock pot. Add the soy sauce and spices and mix it all together. Then lay your pork into the sauce.  Cook on low for about 10 hours or until the pork falls apart easily. Josh recommends turning it over 2 or 3 times throughout the day to make sure the entire shoulder gets the sauce flavor soaked in, since it’s not submerged fully in the sauce. But really it’s easy peasy.

We eat it wrapped up in flour tortillas or sometimes over crunchy tortilla chips with shredded cheese and the sauce spooned over it all. Those are just a couple of ways that our family eats it, but obviously you can eat it however you like. I hope you enjoy it.
